ROMISING pacer Chubby Checker has drawn to put his rivals in a ‘twist again’.
Unbeaten from three Australian starts, Chubby Checker is expected to ‘tear the house down’ when he returns to Club Menangle on Saturday night.
Each off Chubby Checker’s outings since crossing the Tasman have been at the world class venue, including a soft 11-metre in over 2300 metres last weekend.
During his previous appearance Chubby Checker was really hummin' when he covered the mile in 1:52.6.
As for his pending assignment, the son of A Rocknroll Dance will begin from the ‘limbo’ pole much to trainer Jack Trainor’s delight!
“He is up in class a bit, but I put him in that grade hoping he would draw well,” Trainor said.
“He hasn’t stopped improving since he got here and everything he has done suggests he is a genuine Menangle horse.
“He’s won his three starts in pretty easy fashion, and with the draw, I can’t see any reason why he won’t stay unbeaten since getting here.”
With no specific plans in mind for the gelding Trainor will continue to find suitable targets to fill Chubby Checker’s ‘dance card’.
“Ideally I’d find a heat and Final series for him as he is going up in grade,” Trainor said. “I haven’t looked past Saturday night yet, so I’ll just play it by ear for now.”
